Story Update

Hey guys, time for my update! This week I had been kinda busy with guests living in our house with a one year old kid that I pretty much don't like entertaining, but yeah, managed to get a few things done.

Not much of an update today, but I did see some stuff.

Looking around the Roumen Market, I saw the first statless jewellery that I saw!
My first reaction to it was: really?! I mean, it's statless! Most people would rather get statted jewellery than statless. I don't know how this vendor had the nerve to sell it for 3G. Really.

With the release of Fire Skins that can be farmed in the Cave of Fever, I saw the first Fire Skin used: a fire cleric shield skin.
I'm guessing that eXtasyx is the first Fire Skin owner, so congrats! According to Seven, the main administrator for Terra, Fire Skins can be farmed from Pyromancer in Cave of Fever, and they have 5 stats with random points ranging from 10-65 points each, and 2 handed weapons will have an added 25% damage to it. One handed weapons will have 12.5% damage to it, and shield skins will have 12.5% additional defence, both physical and magic.

Some people are seriously annoying, like this guy:
I helped him to get to know the level 60 job change quest, since apparently he was a nub at it. Then, he insists to repay me by letting me keep updated about his promotion. I mean, really, is there a need to keep me updated? He was pretty much spamming my chat, and I got so frustrated I started yelling at him. He clammed up afterwards.

That's about it. I didn't have much time this week, so yeah. I'll be going for an outing tomorrow, so I gotta sleep now. See you!

P.S. I'll be away from the 1st of December to the 12th, so I might only post once or twice during that time, or more likely, none at all. Just be patient :)

Story Update

Hi! It's time for my Story Update again! This week I'm still on my cleric, though I made occasional trips on my archer and mage. However, trying to enhance my cleric helm yesterday, I broke it instead -.-

Anyway enjoy this update!

Here, I am with my best friend SapphireSparkle. I know her in real life, so I was helping her with levelling in Land of Trials on my archer. We decided to take a break from levelling and do our homework, so I started dancing. She decided to sychronise with me.
It took quite a few tries, as you can see from the chat, but eventually we got it sorted out. Things weren't any easier with us calling each other on the phone!

Trying to relax, I decided to go to Free Battle Zone 1. There I met a 106 knight who challenged me to PvP.
It was a never ending fight. In the end, the fighter got tired and decided to take a break.

After dying 3 times in Honeying Kingdom Quest, I warped back to Roumen, and this glitch found me:
You know what happens if you know that you had the exact same glitch on your mage before (and at the same level!):
Yeah, that happens. And when you see it, it's time for a relog.

Wandering about the Roumen Market, I found the first 140 jewellery I ever saw:
I guess this is more of a magic damage based earring. Stats don't look bad, but I've seen 120 jewellery with better stats before (I own one of those).

Seeing that my cleric is pretty much my main now, I requested for another signature from Leonx on the forums, the same guy that did my mage's signature. This was what he came up with:
Not bad, slightly different than what I had expected, but good enough. And guess what? He did it in 10 minutes!

Anyway that's about it for my update today. I've got guests to entertain, so see you!

Cleric Guide: Healing

I've seen plenty of fail healers around both on Fiesta and on Terra. Thank goodness that I'm not one of them! So for those clerics that often are the target of people making comments like "ur so bad at healing" "fail cleric", maybe it's high time for you to look at my guide!

So let's start with the basic. Your first heal is at level 3, Heal.
This is your basic heal. I took this picture on Terra, so there are no empowerments on the amount healed, while there is on Fiesta. I STRONGLY recommend that you put full points into amount and cooldown, because it's your most frequently used skill.

The next type of heal is Restore, acquired at level 25, which I'm going to put it together with Invigorate, since the only difference is that Restore is not kiteable and it is only for 1 person, while Invigorate is kiteable and can affect an area.
A pretty handy skill, and it does not really need any points put into it, since its cooldown is pretty fast, and it heals well enough. I use it mainly for people who don't get hit alot, or those who get hit too much and I need a break from healing them. It is one of those skills that I use pretty frequently.

Next skill is Invincible. While not exactly a healing skill, it is a powerful skill and one that I recommend to use. Alot.
It is acquired at level 20. This skill makes people take 0 hits for 10 seconds if not empowered, so I mainly use this skill for those who are super squishy, or when I need to revive someone while the tank is taking hits. On Terra, unlike Fiesta, Revive is not a kiteable skill, and there is also a cast time of 2 seconds. The trick to using this efficiently is to not use it all the time, but when it is suitable, like when you need a small break from healing, or there are too many people who need heals. Another skill that I strongly recommend to put points into duration and cooldown.

Next handy skill is Rejuvenate, which is acquired at level 41. Pretty much my second most used skill, it heals a bit more than Heal, but it has a longer cooldown than Heal. If I could, I would add more power to the amount healed, but on Terra, it isn't really possible.
I use it together with Heal, for example, when I need to heal 3 people at a time, I would use Heal first, then Rejuvenate on another person while waiting for Heal cooldown, and then use Heal again on the 3rd person, because it will be ready to use by then. Instant area heal without even using it. It is also handy to heal a large amount. I just use Rejuvenate after Heal.

At level 60, you will get you first area heal! Recover heals a decent amount of health points for party members around the cleric, with a rather annoyingly long cooldown.
I use this skill quite a bit, and now I realize that the 30 seconds cooldown is just not enough for me. I should have put points into cooldown for it earlier -.-

Last skill is Awaken, which is acquired at level 85. It is pretty similar to Recover, but with a shorter cooldown and a smaller amount of health points healed.
Very nice skill, but the only downside is that since the skill itself is so bright, it attracts about as much aggro as Mock would, which isn't handy because you yourself will get hit as well with the others. It is handy for tanking though, I use it alot when I tank in Dragon's Tomb on Fiesta.

Okay, so the basics are sorted out, now HOW do you heal?

Everyone has a particular healing style, and so do I. I always, ALWAYS, keep an eye on the party list, so that I can see who gets hit fast. One important trick you need to know how to use is which heals are for what key. On Terra, I'm using pretty much the same keyboard arrangement on Fiesta, so I know exactly which keys I press will have what skills. Spam Heal as much as you could if the person is being hit, but don't let your eyes stray off the party list, because others may be hit as well. That's how alot of people die in parties, because the cleric wasn't watching their HP bar. So they blame the cleric. Which results in alot of grumbling. Then you get the idea.
I would suggest you experiment with the keyboard to see which skills you will be using frequently, which you won't (for me that doesn't apply), and put them in the quick access bars. Knowing where things are and being comfortable is extremely important, so I would emphasize again, and again, to KNOW WHERE YOUR SKILLS ARE! Personally, I put my basic Heal at 4, because my index finger is one of my most nimble fingers. I put some other frequently used skills, such as Rejuvenate and Awaken, at - and = respectively, because I can reach them with my right hand easily. Also, if you get hit, DON'T use Heal on yourself! There will be a time frame and there are others who may still be getting hit. Use HP stones. They are there for a reason. If things go from bad to worse, use HP potions as well. Who says clerics don't need them?

All in all, develop your own style of playing. What I say may not be true for you, so don't be afraid of experimenting! You might just become a super healer next time. Happy healing!

Story Update

Hi all! It's time for my Story Update again! As you probably can see, I have been purely levelling my cleric since I don't have any motivation for levelling Aquina. Celesta managed to hit 115 in just about 4 days of playing! Friday was especially a good day since my parents let me have a 1 day break after my exams, but I don't think 1 day is good enough for me.

Back to point. While levelling Celesta, I got powerlevelled by one of my guildmates, MurderArcher. Since DownFromHeaven, another guildmate of mine and also getting powerlevelled, kept on dying at the Weasels spot in Swamp of Dawn, Murder settled us at a safe spot and we just decided to dance. Sychronising with Down on our dance wasn't so hard. So while Murder killed monsters, we sat around doing nothing.

This was my first Kingdom Quest, King Slime KQ. Most of the people died along the way, but the rest 5 of us went on to win the KQ.
King Slime KQ gives a heck alot of EXP for about 20 minutes of work, so to me, it is by far my favourite KQ.

After doing about 4 KQs I hit level 100!
This is by far my second prestiged character. I wanted to upload a video, but apparently Blogger couldn't do it, so you can watch my video of my promotional quest here (sorry about the bad quality).

After my promo, I was pretty surprised by the sheer number of extra skills that HolyKnights have. I had to use 4 bars to fill them all, and this is what I ended up with:
Most used skills in the right bar, attack/player vs player (PvP) in the Shift bar plus my Quicken, buffs in the Ctrl bar and those skills that I probably won't use much in the Alt bar. I'm pretty happy with this arrangement.

I loved my cleric so much that I decided to make it my main! This was my wedding with my friend, Cloudi.
Cloudi is actually a friend of mine on my mage, and I knew this guy had been liking me for weeks. After the marriage, he gave me a ton of stuff, including a Levi shield +9 (stats sucks though), a Angelic Mace skin, some 95 blues and some jewellery with high END stats on it.

Participating in one of the Honeying KQs, we were at the final stage and I was healing the tank when the Giant Honeying suddenly turned on me! Who knew Honeyings could be so vicious? I just deftly tanked it for a while until the tank got his aggro back.
Tanking wasn't much of a challenge, since my cleric's defense and health points hold up. The only challenge was to heal efficiently and well, which is considering quite a big challenge for a HolyKnight.

This is a picture of me hanging about in level 100 Battle Field. I can't really kill, so I just hanged about there and healed myself when I got attacked.
The Battle Field people are nicer than I thought, and we striked up a conversation with each other. On Fiesta, I don't think alot of people does that.

Being ever so proud of myself on Friday, I yelled in Roumen:
Oh man, that felt good.

I've been looking for a friend of mine, Phoenix_Blaze, on Terra for a whole month, and yesterday I finally found him! Phoenix was a friend of mine on Fiesta, and once when he was on the forums he saw my name, and immediately sent me a message.
Reconnecting for the win. We chatted about our friends on Fiesta, how we were progressing and stuff. He said that his archer was now his main (his previous main was his mage), and that he levelled it to level 95. I guess I'm seriously going to lag behind my friends soon, when they're all level 100+.

Wandering about Terra and waiting for a KQ to start, I saw this name in the list:
Oh awesome, a copycat of my cleric's name. Just add an A at the end of the name and you will have two people with the exact same name. Even more annoying? The person was a guy, and a guardian. Almost totally opposite me!

Well, that's about all the updates I have now. I will be posting more frequently since its the holidays, so look out for more guides and updates!

Story Update

I didn't play much this week due to school, had to stay back until 3-4 pm to prepare for my Chinese O' Levels. Holidays have "officially" started, but I still have Chinese tuition to endure until the 10th of November, so my "real" holidays starts after that. I probably won't be playing much until after my exams, but it will be over soon. Wish me luck, or, as Chinese people always say, jia you (keep on going)!

I guess I still have enough stories for a small entry, so enjoy!

On my way to a council meeting in my guild, I got bombarded by powerlevelling requests:
I yelled that because I think it's not healthy for the person being powerlevelled. I mentioned in my previous post that powerlevelling will not allow the person to explore and get to know his/her class better. I was also in a rush, and since I was suffering from an unlucky bout of rubberbanding lag, it was probably safer for me to just go where I'm supposed to go.

On a brighter note, I got married on my permanent 66 fighter!
The guy is my friend's perm 66 fighter, and since we farm 5x abyss together, we decided to marry each other for the convenience of having an extra buff. Who doesn't like buffs?

Like I said, short and sweet. Hope you enjoyed this entry and see you next week!
