Story Update

Hi folks, it's time for the story update again! This week I had been levelling my cleric and mage mainly, and I managed to hit level 121 on Aquina! First goal completed! Next goal: farm some 125 blues for my mage and enhance them.

Anyway enjoy my stories!

I was with kurume, the guild master of Gray Wolves, my guild. She taught me this trick that she did in Bera. It's pretty similar to the jump glitch that people always like to do at weddings.

Basically a picture of me jumping around there. It's actually quite cool when you look like you're falling from the heavens. Kurume even told me she did that with her turkey mount, so it looked like she had a flying turkey.

Kurume helping me to enhance my helm here. She's really nice that way, helping out her guild members whenever she's on. I only had to pay 5g and provide her with stones (which I had a TON) to get it to +9.

The funniest party registration chat ever! It basically resulted in a chain like this. I was laughing my head off, and it was really good to read while being bored at decomping saps.

One of those more amazing moments here. The Honeying Kingdom Quest only had archers and mages, plus a cleric that actually belonged to the tank (she had multiple accounts) so I don't think that really counts. We actually downed Honeying and won with a pretty fast time.

Hanging about in Spider Kingdom Quest, the members of my party got bored, so we started line dancing. Later I told them that we were the dance/fight party. In this picture, we had just realized the Archmage Books had spawned so a microsecond after I took this screenshot we went to fight.

One of the most amazing parties in Spider KQ that I had. Of course, I blame it on JanJann (janniela). Like I said in a previous blogpost, she's an amazing cleric and tank. Basically she handled all the mobs pretty much singlehandedly while the others went to hammer the monsters out. If you didn't notice, we were all level 120. Our progress was rather slow compared to the others, but it was good enough.
Another amazing Spider KQ party. 3 people, killing everything in our path, and didn't even die once. Again, I blame it on the cleric. He's very good at healing even with lag!

That's all for my Story Update. See you soon!

Power-levelling: My Take

Seeing the sheer number of people asking for powerlevels both on Fiesta and Terra, I started wondering: is powerlevelling beneficial?

I'm sure most people know what powerlevelling is, but for the benefit of those who don't, you basically get someone to kill monsters for you in a high levelled place so you get more exp. That way, you can level up fast while not wasting any strength on it. You can always find someone yelling for a powerlevel, or plvl as it's better known as, and oftentimes they paid money to the person powerlevelling him or her. Due to the fact most powerlevelled people level extremely fast but lack skills, the term "plvled nubs" was made. It specifically refers to those who are high levelled but are very bad at playing their class.
That's why I don't think powerlevelling is beneficial. It makes people lazy and they try to level with the fast and easy (and expensive) way. They lack skills that is crucial for surviving and playing their class well. Powerlevelled clerics and fighters are the worst, since clerics are important to keep a party alive, and fighters usually have to tank and keep all the mobs off other members of the party.
I do think the occasional powerlevel is okay though, since grinding or questing all the way is extremely taxing for most people. I got powerlevelled a few times, about a level or two at a time, when I was on Fiesta with my cleric. Kind random strangers and sometimes friends helped me to level my fighter, mage and archer when I was on Terra. I did kind of regret getting powerlevelled on my archer from 49 to 60 though, since my kiting skills sucks. But I also guess that my build wasn't made for kiting.
If you're good at playing the class and you want a powerlevel, I'm also fine with it. Why bother about levelling that will probably zonk you out when you have the skill?
So what are your thoughts? I think that powerlevelling has more cons than pros, so I would advise all those who want to get a powerlevel: learn your class first!

Story Update

Since the computer I'm usually on has been taken to my dad's office, I had to use the crikey home computer. Still workable at least.

Anyway, I had been looking through my old Fiesta screenshots and it just brought back so many old memories. So now I'll share them with you through this blog post.

Enjoy!

I just hit level 90 here. The mace was from janniela, and it was a godly Titanic Bellow Knight mace. The +9 shield was from FatalLace, because I certainly couldn't afford one myself.
This was me messing around with my guildmates in Free Battle Zone 2 after I gave back my shield to Fatal. I couldn't find one that I liked and I didn't want to waste my money on a NPC shield so I didn't do Dragon's Tomb for like...1 week?
Again, me messing around with my guildmates. It was in Elderine, so there was alot of people asking for buffs, which was rather annoying. Man, I miss DaBarKadz.
We were making fun of my friend LandiMo (Hajer) here. He was bugged quite a bit so that was what we came up with. I usually don't scroll when I do DT, but this time PopMy and I are the tanks, so I had to scroll and cookie to hit 2k defence.
PopMy was away here, and Luciella said that she needed to download Flash Player, so she followed PopMy. I was being followed by PopMy, so it looked like a trail.
I was at the portal of Temple of Spirit when I took this. I thought it looked cool.
Me and my beloved one HeartlessHollow here. He gifted me the Red Wedding Pack.
My first Leviathan's Nest run! Though I did feel terrible because I was more of an add-on because janniela was a much better cleric than I was. Only good thing was that since I was going Holy Knight, they allowed me to take any LN Holy Knight stuff. Unfortuantely we didn't get any.
My wedding with Archer_Rick. I had to go for dinner in the middle of it, so yeah. However, my friend Cherrybomb took a picture of the wedding and she posted it on her blog. I was rather...embarassed.
Gone grinding with Archer_Rick and my friend Laskyy. All of us made faces when Rick announced that there were no more mobs.
Grinding at Origin of Life Tree with a few strangers. They said they needed a female 90+ cleric, so naturally I took the job. Healing the tank was rather hard though, and I died a few times.
My first time doing a Kingdom Quest without a party. This was my mage in Millenium Robo Kingdom Quest. I actually managed to get all the kills myself.

That's about all the screenshots on this computer. Of course I didn't post those random pictures and stuff. The good old days...

Does Private Server Hurt Fiesta?

My friend Gilthoniel raised this question: is Terra stealing profits from Fiesta that should go to game development?
Half a credit, Gil. It does steal some profits. However, most people play private servers because they think Fiesta has too much drama, too much real money spent on getting SparkCash etc. So really, it's because Fiesta was too much on spending real money and then they transfer to private server.
How is Terra run? There is a panel of admins and game developers that oversee the game. They rely on donations from the players, which could be used to grant VIP status for a month. There are also the community leaders and trainees, who are actually players from Terra that chose to lead the community.
From my point of view, players on Fiesta who were not happy with the game move on to private servers because it's cheap. I don't think Fiesta will be reaping any profits from those who had half quitted anyway. So it's not a total loss. If Fiesta wants to keep all of its players, it needs to make the game less SC oriented, as in a pay-to-win game. However, the chance of this happening is 0.
I think it would be nice if certain SC items can be bought from NPCs, such as charms or suits with no stats on them, or make some SC items tradeable. It may help to even out the gap between plaers with SC and players with no SC (I was a non-SC player).

A rather short article, because I don't have alot on mind right now. By the way, it's my birthday! Wish me happy birthday!

Lastly, a joke to finish off this article.
Carter was trying to steer a boat. His buddy, Horus the war god, said, You're missing something.
A little busy here! Carter thought.
It's my birthday! Horus insisted. Wish me happy birthday!
"Happy birthday!" Carter yelled. "Now, shut up!" - The Red Pyramid

Story Update

Hey all, time for Story Update again! This week I didn't do much because of my exams, and when my exams finished I got sidetracked with two awesome new books, which were Rick Riordan's Kane Chronicles. I love his books because they're just so witty and funny! Also, you will notice that I changed the look of the blog. Does it look better now?
Anyway enjoy my short stories!
I had been wanting to get a sophiscated signature for a long time. By the way, if you don't know, a signature is like a picture or a few sentences that you put on the end of every forum post. It can be pre-setted, so you don't need to put it on the end of every post manually. So anyway, there's a free siggy maker on the forums of Terra. His name is Leonx. When I asked him for a siggy, this is what he got for me:
I know you can't see it on white background clearly, but it's awesome. It's much better than most of the siggy makers I saw on Fiesta. Unless I can find a even better siggy maker, I'm going to keep it.
This really made my day:
Anyone recognize it? No? Clair De Lune is actually a piano piece composed by Debussy, and even though the tempo was horrifying, it's quite nice to play it with a string orchestra. I just smile at the memory on how I had to ask friends from other sections and the conductor for the tempo (I can't ask anyone else, because I'm the second violin section leader)
I was doing Mean Giant Honeying Kingdom Quest when a community leader trainee, Ashlee, suddenly poofed right in front of me. I got quite a bit of a shock, but she helped us along for a few minutes before warping to somewhere else.
Sorry, her name was mostly covered with just the corner showing because of the arsenal of skills. I wanted to take another picture, but she poofed >.<
Anyway that's about it. Pretty short but yeah. See ya next week!

What's Up?

Yay I finished my exams! Finally a vacation! Okay maybe not a real vacation but it's a vacation for my mind. Since all my friends are excited on me coming back to Fiesta once the computer stops creaking, I started wondering...what should I do when I get back?
1. Settle myself. That's for sure. I haven't been on for at least 2 months, and there had been HUGE changes to Fiesta, like the charm icons and the new party system, which was really unpopular from the reactions I saw on the forums (I still stalk the Fiesta forums).
2. Decide on which guild I will go to. I think it's because of my wide connections, but alot of guilds want me in it, such as my current one, Meteor_Shower, and a guild that my friend Ryokuro got in, Oceania. Of course, DaBarKadz still wants me as well. I highly doubt I will be going to Oceania because it's going to be a whole new community there, but I will probably be going back to DaBarKadz, since that's my home. So many good memories there...
3. Level myself. On this part I'm not so sure, since after the new party system was implemented, alot of people complained it wasn't fair for clerics, and if it wasn't fair, I guess I'll have to solo, which is NOT my type of levelling. Sure, I can solo Laplans in Tear's Marsh, and get a few stacks of Shining dust for me to sell, but it's just so SLOWWW. Can't clerics have an easier time?
4. Reconnect with old friends. Man, I miss my friends. They've been like a rock, sticking up for me when I'm down, helped me to stumble to level 92, even sent me gifts during Christmas. On Terra, I feel that friends are far and wide apart, so usually I feel rather lonely.
I guess that's it for my plans. I'm still thinking, though. But these are my "draft" plans. See ya!

Story Update

Hey all! Time for my Story Update again! This week I had mainly levelled Aquina to level 118 through Mean Giant Honeying KQ, but I also levelled my cleric to level 66. Strange as it seems, I had been powerlevelled on almost all of my characters, or at least got help, but on my cleric I did not get ANY help to hit level 66!
Anyway enjoy my stories!
I had been trying to download Fiesta again, but a day before my planned try, the computer glitched up and I couldn't get on Fiesta. So instead I got my friend (thank you Laskyy!) to help me send the download file. It kind of bugged up though -.-

The words in the yellow box means (heads up Cherrybomb, Chinese lesson time!) "Windows Live Hotmail has blocked a file due to safety reasons". Ah shoot, now how am I going to download the thing? Laskyy suggested Yahoo mail, because it doesn't prevent the file. I think I'm going to try it sometime, after the computer stopped creaking again.

Levelling Celesta in Land of Trials, I found a treasure chest. Imagine my surprise and joy when I found...

A mini sunflower pet! This was a new pet that Terra released just a few weeks ago. The increase all stats by 30, plus an aim and critical rate bonus. Apparently the pet is a little glitched, because it didn't increase any of my stats, but I did have a much higher critical rate after I wore it.

I was doing Honeying KQ when I saw that someone had called me by my Bijou name, Pearl. At first I was wondering like "wth?!" when the person (JanJann) told me that she was janniela from Bijou! That character was one of her alts on Terra.

By the way, if you find JanJann in your party, hold on her tight. She's an awesome cleric, thought it isn't that surprising because she has at least 3 clerics (janniela on Fiesta, Clerish and JanJann on Terra).

I found the (calculates on fingers) 5th guild that moved from Bijou to Terra! Guess which one is it?
Yes, Jalur_Gemilang had moved to Terra. It used to be a pretty powerful guild on Bijou, but they got drowned eventually.

Doing another Honeying KQ, there was no cleric, but there were a few strong tanks. I ended up being the only Wizard in 6 people after all the others ran out of lives, and I only died 2 times (which is a pretty good record for me)

On Fiesta, Honeying KQ is a extremely unpopular Kingdom Quest, partly because it was that hard to just win, but on Terra alot of people play it. I guess one thing made easier was the fact that everyone had area attacks (AOEs). It made killing so much easier.

I went on my first raiding session 2 weeks ago. I was willing to buff myself up, but even I got a little bit scared on how my stats have changed. It's just that I rarely use so many SC items, and my damage and Health Points went up like crazy. I didn't use a charm though, I happened to just run out of it.

This was me waiting for Angel Harpy to spawn, with my stat window open. This was not where it ended though, I found a few extra potions and buffs to further buff me up. I eventually ended up with over 8k HP and 12k damage.

This was one of my best Honeying parties. Everyone cooperated, and they were also very chatty. Even if it ruins my concentration, it was fun!

I think I went for about 2 runs with the same party.
That's about it guys! My exams will end next week, so expect more posts by then. Until then, see ya!
